Start here! It’s me- Jamie Smith! 

A little about me!

I am an artist and I have worked in the arts for over ten years now. I started my career as an art teacher and then went on to buy art for private collectors and corporate clients. After a few years, I wanted to get back to my own artwork and build community in my lovely city of Vancouver. I got myself an art studio and started a community art walk called ROVE to get the public into hidden art spaces on Main Street in Vancouver, BC. This led to creating my own artistic community called THRIVE Art Studio a place for womxn artists to meet monthly to talk about the ups and downs of being professional artists. 

Over the years I have been sent many emails from people asking for help in buying artwork. Over the years there have been over 600 artists in Thrive Together Network so I have met a lot of artists and seen a lot of art! I became the “go-to” person to ask about art buying with my inner circle and now much further beyond. I have helped purchase artwork for private collectors, newbie art enthusiasts and even bought art pieces for large corporate collections. No matter who I have bought art for I have learned is that the process is all the same! So, I have created a menu of resources here to help people learn about why buying art is important, how to buy art, how to hang art and more. I hope these are helpful!
